Q&A: I’m burning “body fat” by means of my exercises, but how do I burn far more of “calories”?
Question by Sleepy Smurf: I’m burning “fat” through my workouts, but how do I burn more of “calories”?
I workout at least 3x a week. My regular workouts consist of moderate to high impact Aerobics with weight lifting for about 1 hour each workout. Sometimes I walk at the parks for about 40 minutes each week.
Also, I know that fast paced workouts, such as, running are great for burning lots of calories (more than burning fat) & slow to moderate rhythmic exercises, such as Aerobics, are excellent for burning body fat (more than burning lots of calories).
I guess I’m burning fat, but not burning enough calories. I need to burn more calories. So I need some suggestions. When I try to run, I get a hard time breathing(no I’m not a smoker), maybe cause I’m not used to running.
I meant what type of workouts cause I don’t eat that many calories

Eat less calories, no more than 1500 and you should start losing weight

My P.E teacher said that doing the “plank” can help you burn calories. It’s easy to do the plank, just hold on the push-up position and hold on for at least three minutes or more.
I hope it helps….
Fat is calories. 1 pound of fat is 3500 calories. You are talking about high intensity and low intensity workouts. High intensity is good for training where a lower intensity is for endurance. Both burns fat and calories.
If you really want to start running I would suggest you google “Couch to 5K” it’s a program that helps train your body for long distance running (resulting in weight loss and strength). If you see that the first couple weeks are too easy, find where you fit and start from there.
On another note with running, I used to hate it because I would get bored, but I found if I listen to music while running, I run longer and have way more fun!
all exercise burns calories! You have to burn calories to lose fat! you can’t just burn fat and not calories it doesn’t work that way.
If you have trouble running you should start off slow with jogging at a mild to moderate pace.. running is hard on a body not used to it!
And from what it sounds you are either plateauing, your body is used to what its doing and it’s time to change things, like change the way you exercise or increase intesitiy or decrease intensity and increase your reps this helps build muscle and having some muscle helps to burn calories ) .
Or you should do FIRST is take a look at your diet… check out how many calories should be eating in one day with the amount of exercise that you get. Compared that to how many calories you Are taking in (there are a Lot of sites that tell you this, so google it and see)
Oh and If you eat foods with fructose, or High fructose like High fructose Corn syrup Stop! for every 120 calories of fructose you take in 70% of those calories are stored in your body as fat! Also unless you are the type of person that runs marathons at least once every two weeks, it doesn’t burn off like other types of sugar or fats it just sticks around your insides and starts building up in your liver and eventually building up as layers of fat.
